BFA Junior Jaguars U8
The BFA Junior Jaguars U8 programme introduces BFA members under the age of 8 to team football in a structured training environment.
Junior Jaguars sessions focus on key technical skills including dribbling and ball mastery, turning, passing and receiving, shooting, and 1v1 situations. Players also begin building an understanding of the basic rules and flow of the game.
The programme is more involved than our Fundamental sessions, with training twice per week, as well as friendly matches, league matches and occasional tournaments at weekends, typically around twice per month.
Leagues
Junior Jaguars participate in selected local youth leagues appropriate for their age group.

Sessions typically consist of:
– a warm-up (heart raiser)
– a technical introduction with the ball (introducing skills related to the session topic)
– a technical skill activity
– Small Sided Games (SSGs) to practise the skill in a game-based environment
As with all BFA sessions, the Junior Jaguars programme aims to maintain a fun and enjoyable environment while gradually introducing a greater focus on technical and competitive development.
The programme is designed for players who are ready for a team environment with regular training and matches, where attendance and commitment to the team are expected.
To join the Junior Jaguars programme, children need to:
– have been a BFA member for at least 3 months
– attend and pass Junior Jaguars trials
– demonstrate good focus, work ethic, commitment and potential to improve
Players who are ready for the next stage may progress into the Jaguars U9/U10 environment, continuing their development within the Jaguars programme.
The Junior Jaguars programme focuses on long-term development, enjoyment of the game, and steady progression within a supportive environment, while maintaining a balanced schedule alongside school and other activities.
