The Academy Stars

The Academy Stars sessions are available to 11 & 12 year olds and although we encourage the regular attendance of Junior and Varsity team players, all who want to attend this challenging yet highly rewarding program are welcome. The 1 hour and 20 minute weekly sessions draw on our senior coaches’ experience and extensive knowledge and experience of coaching young professional and amateur players around the globe. In fact the Academy Stars curriculum derives from exactly the same elements as coached in professional youth development programs in the UK.

Total football conditioning is our aim for the Academy Stars members and the continuity from session to session, will facilitate the on-going progress of our players physically, technically and mentally. Drills, both opposed and unopposed, as well as small-sided games are used, not only to develop the fundamentals of ball control, tackling, passing and shooting, but also are specifically geared towards enhancing game cognition: movement off the ball, switching play, defending from the front and the back, man-to-man marking, zone marking, offside and formation play and this list is by no means exhaustive.

Through our effort, expertise and guidance The Academy Stars players will all achieve their footballing potential and regardless of whether that lands them a contract with a professional club, a scholarship at a prestigious University or some knowledge to bestow on the next generation, our Stars will go on shine in the glorious world of football.
