The Academy

The Academy has been set up primarily to facilitate the technical development of all 9 & 10 year olds, although entry to Lion aged kids will be permitted on an individual merit basis. Extensive FA approved soccer coaching techniques are incorporated into specific, curriculum-based drills, games and activities in the pursuit of player’s all-round technical proficiency, game cognition and enjoyment.

Technical sessions focusing upon strategies, team tactics, rules and regulations are an integral part of The Academy curriculum. Coupled with the physical development of players, the development of a young player mentally is vitally important at this key stage in their progress.

The Academy is committed to ensuring that all young players learn, understand and can competently demonstrate all the skills necessary to be an effective football player in a match situation. Equally as important, The Academy wants its members to feel a part of a team and throughout all activities, teamwork, communication and friendship are integral characteristics, reflecting BFA’s own founding principles.
